David Poole

CEO
David’s passion lies in unleashing an organisation’s potential with the latest technology solutions. He has a proven track record of shaping, building, developing, and growing businesses with a fine balance of realism and idealism. Prior to building Emergence, David was co-founder and CEO of Symphony, a transformation consultancy focused on revolutionizing the way organisations do work. Prior to this, David was Chief Client Officer at Sutherland, CEO at Serco, Head of Global BPO Strategy at Capgemini, and a Partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers responsible for solution design and transition of major BPO deals.

Bill Thomas

Chairman
Bill has successfully completed multiple acquisitions and capital events and held numerous board positions. He has operated successfully across a variety of organizations, including NYSE-listed corporations, a Big 4 partnership, and venture-backed companies. He is Founder & Managing Partner of Acresis LLC where he’s dedicated to guiding founders achieve personal and professional goals across the business continuum. He holds a variety of Board positions including Chairman of Symphony Ventures, OmPrompt, My Family Care, GetMyFirstJob, and Investor and Director of eNate.

Nisha Deo

Founding Partner
Nisha Deo leads Strategy and Communications at Emergence Partners. Nisha is experienced in creating new capabilities for companies and leaders to drive corporate growth through storytelling and industry positioning. She has global experience leading communications teams at Intel, Boston Scientific, Shire Pharmaceuticals, and Rainbird where she managed corporate re-positioning, reputation, issues management, and internal and external stakeholder relations. Nisha currently serves teaching fellow for Cyberspace, AI, and International Relations at Harvard. She holds a B.A. from Purdue University, an M.A. from Harvard University.

Joy Poole

Founding Partner
Joy Poole leads Executive Education and Coaching at Emergence Partners. Joy engages and demystifies the potential of the latest technology innovations for leaders creating impact in their respective industries. She currently serves on the advisory board of FIKA, a HealthTech business on a mission to mainstream Emotional Fitness. Joy’s realist and mindful ethos coupled with her extensive experience from Facebook, Capgemini, and Arthur Andersen enabled her to build a strong record in business development, and strategic and operational excellence. Joy holds a B.A. from Michigan State University and Executive degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.

Katie Gibbs

Founding Partner
Katie Gibbs leads consulting at Emergence Partners. Katie helps organisations identify specific business value that new technologies will deliver by combining human centered design with technical innovation and application. Her focus is not only uncovering short term value but she hones into long term sustainability to positively manage cultural impact and future-proof organisations in their industries. Katie brings substantial consulting experience from BJSS, Heron AI, and Accenture. She holds a BA from the University of Leeds and has earned a Service Design certificate from the University of the Arts London.

James Hall

Chief Commercial Officer
James is passionate about combining the best of people, process and emerging technology to deliver profound transformation and improved customer experiences. His career has focused on developing consulting and outsourcing solutions for large global organisations, working firms including Accenture and IBM. Prior to Emergence, James founded Genfour, a leading boutique automation services company. Genfour developed the first UiPath robot and pioneered the robotic delivery centre, offering fully managed services. Genfour was sold to Accenture in 2017. He holds a Masters in Engineering from Imperial College, London in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from London Business School.

Sarah Burnett

Head of Technology Immersion
Sarah is a renowned industry analyst and helps technology companies successfully formulate their product innovation and go to market strategies for growth. She also advises enterprise clients on automation technologies, sourcing, competitive strategies and market trends and their commercial significance. She was Executive Vice President and Distinguished Analyst at Everest Group where she set up the new AI research practice. Her background is punctuated with analyst experience at NelsonHall and Ovum, as well as senior management roles at Digital Equipment Corp and in local government. Sarah is a strong advocate for women and diversity and serves as Chair of BCSWomen.

Paul Ruggier

Partner
Paul leads large enterprise relationships at Emergence. His skillset lies in implementing and integrating process, technology and change. He has led OpEx Programmes at HSBC, Generali, GE Capital, Texaco Chevron and Procter & Gamble. He co-founded Xchanging and helped build it to 8,000 employees and €1 billion annual revenue with innovative BPO deals with Lloyd’s of London, AON, Deutsche Bank and BAE Systems before being bought by DXC. At GE Capital, he implemented Lean Six Sigma in all 27 businesses across Europe, at Generali he led Process & Automation across Global Operations, and at HSBC led Process & Operations Transformation Capability for 40,000 Operations staff in 50 countries.
